I’m a creative leader focused on making the world a better place. I spent the last 10 years of my creative career working at the Sierra Club, the oldest and largest environmental organization in the U.S. I was hired to build and manage the creative studio inside the club’s national office in San Francisco. I welcomed the opportunity to not only create its visual brand from scratch, but also to make sure that all creative work on all the Sierra Club’s campaigns and programs fit comfortably inside the new brand’s look and feel. My previous decades of creative experience consisted of founding and running two design studios that worked exclusively with nonprofits and foundations. This portfolio represents a small slice of the projects that I led on behalf of the environment and climate during my last decade at the Sierra Club.

9 THINGS THAT MAKE ME A GOOD CREATIVE DIRECTOR:

GREAT TRANSLATOR

I know how to boil down complex concepts and strategies into digestible ideas and actionable themes.

LOW DRAMA
I think there's enough everyday drama around us all, so I like to keep the design studio life drama free.

STUDIO TRAILBLAZER
I founded two nonprofit-focused design studios long before working on cause related issues was cool.

BELIEVER IN LESS IS MORE

I strive to keep designs, messages, and life as simple as possible for ease of consumption.

COMFORTABLE COLLABORATOR

I know how to be inclusive, to educate, and to help mentor the folks I work alongside.

DIRECTOR OF CREATIVES

Different than creative direction, I know how to direct, motivate, and partner to get the best results from creative types.

NO EGO
It's amazing how much good work can get done if you're not stealing the light or the thunder from others on your team.

VERY LOYAL
I don’t flip jobs, houses or partners and have worked happily alongside some of my colleagues for decades.

ABILITY TO LAUGH

My years of working on the climate crisis has taught me how to use my sense of humor to keep moving forward on issues that are crucial to me and the planet.
