The Sierra Club was one of the lead environmental organizations for the first People’s Climate March in NYC. We designed and printed this poster series to be used at the 100,000+ person climate march. The first year of the march we used the image of the Statue of Liberty holding a windmill for the main poster visual and then iterated off that image to deliver additional climate messages and to drive traffic to our social channels. The second year of the march, we developed a protest mask concept that was illustrated in the same style as previous march posters. I guess we were a few years ahead of our time with the coming Covid pandemic that made virtually everyone a mask wearer.
Outcome
These protest posters got our branded design out in front of tens of thousands of people. The Obama museum in Chicago requested a version that we designed to be included in the museum display on Obama's climate policy.
